ABC Alphabet Hunt

Let kids practice identifying and matching letters with fun rubbing techniques.

In this activity, children practice identifying and matching letters as well as fine motor and sensory skills by rubbing the paper with chalk to create letters. Rubbing is also a fun art technique that kids will enjoy in anticipation of something they will see. Let’s do it.

What you’ll need

  • Chanafavors Free Printables (Link in Bio)
  • Alphabet Letters
  • Paper
  • Chalk
  • Adhesive Tape

How to Set Up

  1. Print the Chanafavors free printable file for the letter sheet.
  2. Put a sheet of paper on the table. Place the letters on the paper.
  3. Cover it with another piece of paper and attach it to the table with clear tape.

How to play

  1. Show your children how to find the letters. Touch the paper to see where the letter might be and rub the paper with chalk on the area until the letter is shown.
  2. Encourage your children to read the letter. Match and circle the letter on the letter sheet.
  3. Repeat with the remaining letters.

  • For younger children, use the letters they are confident with and add more letters later.
