Fruit Color Matching

Fruit Color Matching -To help develop color recognition, visual perception and fine motor skills

In this activity, children practice both color recognition and visual perception by looking at the colors on the color cards and interpreting the colors they see as the colors of different fruits. They also practice fine motor control by putting the picture of that colored fruit on the pole in the same position as the color on the card. Let’s get started.

What you’ll need

  •  Cardboard
  • Wooden Popsicle Sticks
  • Hot Glue Gun and Sticks
  • Scissors / Cutter Knife
  • Glue Stick

How to Set Up

  1. Print and cut out the white base, fruit pictures, and colored cards. Make holes in each fruit picture along the dotted lines.
  2. Stick the base to the cardboard and stick one half of the popsicle stick vertically on each marked location to form a pole.

How to play

  • Players choose a color card and pick the matching fruit. Then place the fruit on the pole according to the color and position on the card. Repeat for all cards.
