Brain training games to help your child strengthen their visual skills
This 3-in-1 activity helps children strengthen their visual perception and build visual discrimination skills. Kids can pick up circular cutouts and arrange colors according to snail cards, practice visual and color memory to match the cards and popsicle sticks. Let’s play these brain training games.
What you’ll need
- Chanafavors Printables
- Mini Craft Sticks
- Cardboard
- Scissors / Glue
How to Set Up
- Print the Chanafavors printable file.
- Cut out the snails, colored circles, snail cards, and colored fillings.
- Stick the snail cards on the cardboard and the colored fillings on the popsicle sticks.
How to play
- Place the snail and the colored circles in front of your child. Ask them to choose a snail card and discuss the color on the snail shell. Have them try matching the colored circles on the card starting from the largest outer circle to the smallest inner circle. Repeat the process with the remaining cards.
- Place all snail cards face down. In turn, each player opens two snail cards to see their color. If they are the same, that player wins the pair and plays again. If not, turn the cards face down again and pass it to the next player. Whoever collects more card wins.
- Place a sheet of colored snails in front of your child. Talk about the color of the first snail. Encourage your child to find popsicle sticks to fill in the gaps by looking at the colors and aligning the popsicle sticks to the correct place on the snail shell.
Tips
- For young children, you can separate the colored circles by size to make it easier to find a match.
