Color Mixing Activity

This activity will make children understand the science of color and creating colors. Start with 3 primary colors and mix them together to create other colors.

What you’ll need

  • Chanafavors Free Printables
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Empty Water Bottle
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Water

How to Set Up

  1. Print the butterfly cards from Chanafavors free printable file. Cut out the paper inside the butterfly along the dotted lines.
  2. Attach each butterfly card to the empty water bottle with glue. Make a total of 6 bottles (3 blank butterflies for the primary colors and 3 colored wings for the secondary colors).
  3. Put some red, blue, and yellow acrylic paint into the bottle caps. Add more paint when needed.

Tips

*Red, yellow, blue are the primary colors.

*Mix red with yellow to get orange. Mix red with blue to get violet. Mix yellow and blue to get green. Orange, violet and green are secondary colors.
