Sparkling Hearts

This glowing activity encourages children’s creativity and imagination with science. The sparkling bubbles are formed by carbon dioxide (same gas as in sparkling water) produced by the reaction of baking soda and vinegar. Science can be this beautiful. Let’s try it.

What you’ll need

  • Baking Soda
  • Vinegar
  • Liquid Dropper
  • Heart Cookie Cutters

How to Set Up

  • Place a heart cookie cutter in a tray. Put some baking soda with glitters in the heart cooking cutter.

Tips

*The reaction between baking soda and vinegar foams up carbon dioxide gas.
