How to Set Up

  1. Print the tree and bird images. Attach the tree to a cardboard box, covering the brown area with clear tape, and insert push pins into the marked positions on the tree. (Adult supervision is recommended for added safety.)
  2. Cut out the birds and attach a rubber band to the back of each bird using tape to create a loop on the bird’s head.

How to play

  2. For an added challenge, you can craft simple math problems by writing/placing a number on the left branch, a plus or minus sign in the middle, and another number on the right branch. Encourage the player to add or remove birds according to the numbers and the sign, then count the remaining birds to find the answer.
