  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick
  • Adhesive Tape

How to Set Up

  1. Print and cut out the fish-themed components.
  2. Arrange two ponds on the top line, place the plus sign, and add another two ponds on the second line. Position the river vertically in the middle between the two digits. Place the answer ponds with green outlines on the bottom line. Attach all components to a piece of cardboard.
  3. For the problem bar, attach it to a separate piece of cardboard, coating the writing area with tape for easy erasing.

How to play

  1. Write down two two-digit numbers to create an addition problem (e.g., 26 + 39).
  2. Read and place each digit’s corresponding fish on the ponds. Add the digits in the ones place, placing the result at the bottom of the river and carrying over the fish to the top of the next column. Add the digits in the tens place, placing the result in the tens place. Read the total, write the answer on the problem bar, erase, and repeat for more challenges.
