Here’s how to make homemade tweezers for your kids. Developing fine motor skills helps your child hold a toothbrush or pencil better. Let’s get started.
What you’ll need
- Jumbo Craft Sticks
- Clothespins
- Jackstones
- Hot Glue Gun and Sticks
- Cutter Knife
- Dish Sponge
How to Set Up
- Attach a clothespin between the two jumbo sticks with a glue gun. Keep the handle of the clothespin inside and the clamping side is on the edge of the craft stick, as shown in the video. Wait until dry.
- Cut the sponge with a cutter. Put the jackstones, pebbles, or beads into the cut slots.
Tips
*Try the clothespin several times first to make the spring soft and comfortable for kids to hold.
*When children are confident in using tweezers, you can ask if they can sort the objects by color in the next session.
