Rainbows Science Experiment

This activity sparks curiosity and a desire to learn. Children learn when they see things. The activity showed that the pigment dissolved in water and moved along the paper.

What you’ll need

  • Tissue Paper
  • Plastic Lids
  • Washable Markers
  • Water

How to Set Up

  1. Cut tissue paper into strips.
  2. Draw short rainbow strips on both edges of the tissue paper strip.
  3. Place a water lid on both edges of the strip.

*The ink in the washable markers is water-based, so it can dissolve in water and move along the paper with water.
