How to Set Up
- Print and cut out the two monkeys. Attach one monkey on the left and the other on the right side of a cardboard piece. Make holes near each monkey and thread the string through 10 paper clips. Connect both monkeys by tying the ends of the strings through the holes, securing them at the back with tape. Attach the math problem frame below.
How to play
- Place the monkey board in front of the player. Arrange the number cards on the frame to create a math problem as guided on the worksheets.
- For addition: Begin with the right monkey empty-handed. Add the specified number of bananas to the right monkey, then read the plus sign. Add more bananas according to the second number, count them all, and write the total.
- For subtraction: Clip the bananas according to the first number and move them to the left monkey. Read the minus sign, and the right monkey will take away the specified number of bananas. Count the remaining bananas and write the answer in the space provided.
