Icy Letters

Ice play is always a favorite among children. This activity stimulates the sensory development of children and promotes natural learning. Waiting for the ice to melt also teaches patience. Have fun with your kids.

What you’ll need

  • Food Coloring
  • Alphabet Letters
  • Ice Cube Tray
  • Water

How to Set Up

  1. Put food coloring into the ice tray. Then, add water and alphabet letters to the tray. Store the tray in the freezer.
  2. Take out the colored ice cubes with letters and put them in another tray. Add a bath toy like a penguin sponge or yellow duck (if you have one).

Tips

*If you don’t have the letters that can put into the ice tray, use what is available such as plastic bricks or blocks.

*For the frozen lake effect, add food coloring and water to 1/3 of a plain tray and freeze it.
