Blooming Paper Flowers

In this activity, children can learn about the capillary action, which explains why the petals can unfold.

What you’ll need

  • Paper
  • Permanent Marker
  • Scissors

How to Set Up

  • Print and cut out the flower from Chanafavors printable file.


*As paper is made of wood which is filled with holes inside, water sticks together, clings to the hole wall in the paper, and moves into the paper. The paper then absorbs more water until the crease on the paper is filled with water and loosens, causing the petals to unfold.

Adult supervision is required for any activity presented by CHANA and Chanafavors.
